News In Memory, Kaz Zatek 2/28/2003 Enjoying his love of sailing his boat Descended of a long line of old world
craftsmen back three generations, Kaz s passion for sailing and boat building made him leave his native Poland in
quest of lifetime dream to own boat-building company. Participating in Operation Sail in 1976, he experienced for the
first time America freedom and the first hand achievements of free enterprise. Two years later in 1998 he came back
to the United States with the desire to full fill his lifetime dream. After several years of fruitful labor, he purchased a
parcel of land in Wareham, on which European Custom Yachts Ltd was erected. Kaz owned Swan 441, which after a
total transformation from racing to cruising yacht was one of the best examples of his professional abilities. His skills
and his gentleman s spirit will be sadly missed. >> Thursday.
